Last month, we announced that we were aiming to make the festive season a little brighter for disadvantaged children and young people across the region.
We called upon our employees and customers to help us support the Salvation Army’s Christmas Gift Appeal by donating unwrapped toys and gifts to our South Shields office.
Through the very kind donations of North East businesses, we collected around 70 gifts ranging form Christmas activity packs and cuddly toys to books, games and toiletries. This festive generosity means that local families who are struggling to buy presents for their children will find a small surprise under their tree on Christmas Day.
Paul Cobb, Managing Director here at The Green Energy Advice Bureau, said: “It is a sad fact that, while many families across the region will be enjoying the festivities this Christmas time, there are others who will be struggling to make ends meet which is why we wanted to help make a difference this Christmas.
“It has been fantastic to see so many people embrace the spirit of giving. The Salvation Army carry out wonderful work within the region and beyond. Being able to support such a worthy charity with our own present appeal was an honour.”
The presents which were kindly donated to our appeal have now been passed on to the Salvation Army where they will be wrapped and distributed to local families via their extensive networks, community groups and social services.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated a gift to our present appeal, we hope that you have a wonderful Christmas.
