Greenhouse Gas Reporting

GGR

Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting (GHG reporting) was introduced in 2013 to allow investors to incorporate emissions, energy, and other resource efficiencies into their analyses, and to provide greater disclosure on the environmental performance of quotable organisations.

It requires all UK quoted companies to report on greenhouse gas emissions in the Director’s report section of the annual company report. GHG reporting affects all UK incorporated companies listed on the main market of:

  • The London Stock Exchange (FTSE)

  • European Economic Area Market

  • New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

  • American/Canadian Stock Exchange (NASDAQ)

Which Greenhouse Gases do I need to report on?

Companies are required to report on:

  • Carbon Dioxide CO2

  • Methane CH4

  • Nitrous Oxide N2

  • Hydrofluorocarbons HFCs

  • Perfluorocarbons PFCs

  • Sulphur Hexafluoride SF6
