We work with businesses from a wide range of industries and, regardless of size or sector, aim to deliver the best rates available on the market and a first-class customer service. We strive to go the extra mile to get the best deals possible for our clients. This would not be possible though if it wasn’t for our dedicated and knowledgeable team
With a range of career opportunities available, we sat down with Richard Wright, our Sales Team Manager, to find out more about him and his role here at The Green Energy Advice Bureau.
So Richard, what made you apply for a job at TGEAB?
I had worked alongside our director, Paul Cobb, previously at another company and admired his business acumen as well as his drive and ambition. I knew before starting my role here that he would bring out the best in me and help me to work towards my long term goals.
How did you get into the energy industry?
I started my career working for one of Europe’s largest energy suppliers – RWE Npower. After working there for a few years, I heard rumors about the life changing commissions on offer to energy consultants. It didn’t take me long to weigh up my options and become an energy consultant.
What does a typical working day look like for you?
A typical day begins with me completing a morning sales meeting where we discuss what will be happening that day across the business. I also pass on any market news which is applicable to my energy consultants. My day to day role can be summed up as driving productivity and revenue across the business and reporting directly to our director, Paul.
What is your favourite aspect of your role?
Helping my staff, developing them to become corporate portfolio managers. I love working with people who come to us never having worked in the industry – they have amazing drive and ambition and do well with the advice and development we pass onto them.
What is your favourite thing about working at TGEAB?
The people I work with! We are like a small family with everyone pitching in to help the people around them. We are constantly laughing and enjoying our work. We work hard and play hard!
In your career, how does working for The Green Energy Advice Bureau compare? What sets the company apart?
There is no comparison in my opinion. Here at TGEAB, we develop our staff to be the best they can be.
What do you think sets TGEAB apart from other energy brokers?
We always pay our staff bonuses as agreed and on time. We believe hard work should be rewarded, not penalised.
What is your top energy saving tip for businesses?
With the UK energy market constantly evolving and changing, the best tip I could give to anyone is allow the team here at TGEAB to look after your energy on your behalf – energy costs are rising quickly and businesses need to stay ahead of the market. Turning PC’s off on an evening also makes a big difference over the year.
What do you get up to when you’re not at work?
I have a young daughter who I love spending time with. I’ve also been known to enjoy the odd night out!
